Interdisciplinary Approaches to Climate Change Adaptation: Forests, Society, and Wellbeing

Interdisciplinary Approaches to Climate Change Adaptation: Forests, Society, and Wellbeing

The COST Actions CLEANFOREST (https://cleanforest.eu/), SHIFT (https://shift-cost.eu/) and CLIMENT (https://cost-climent.eu/) will come together to explore how different disciplines can join forces to address some of today’s biggest challenges, including climate change, forest resilience, and mental health and wellbeing. The event has Young Researchers as its primary target, but is open to all COST members and external participants.

The event aims to create new opportunities for collaboration by connecting researchers with diverse backgrounds and expertise. Through interactive discussions and breakout sessions, participants will exchange ideas, share research approaches, and identify common themes that can lead to joint publications, future projects, training activities, and innovative partnerships.

A certificate of participation will be issued to participants who attend the entire event.

The initiative aims to:

  • identify shared research themes, methodologies, and societal challenges across the participating COST Actions, encouraging multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary collaboration;
  • stimulate the development of and the participation in joint activities, especially among Early Career Investigators and young researchers, including collaborative publications, workshops, training initiatives, and future research projects;
  • increase the visibility, outreach, and long-term impact of each COST Action by connecting their networks and audiences;
  • strengthen synergies within the COST ecosystem and explore new models of inter-Action cooperation that can be replicated by other COST Actions and by the COST Association itself;
  • contribute to the dissemination of COST values by promoting openness, inclusiveness, international cooperation, and cross-sectoral engagement;
  • develop and test collaborative networking formats that may serve as additional tools for the COST Association to enhance the scientific, social, and strategic impact of COST Actions.

The results of the discussion will be published as a white paper/report.

The event is free but registration is mandatory. Please, register here.
