Mrs Stavroula Zacharoudi (Democritus University of Thrace, Greece) is a PhD student in climate change effects on forest ecophysiological responses. Currently, she is investigating the seasonal variation of soil respiration and carbon sequestration from natural stands of deciduous oaks and evergreen broad-leaved forest ecosystems. Her research is part of the ForOaks project funded by the Greek Green Fund, where she participates since January 2023. Her primary research interests are climate extremes’ effects and the C cycling mechanisms in forest ecosystems. During her MSc studies she gained experience in the application of Regional (RCM) and Global Climate Models (GCM) and drought indices for detection of future climate extremes, such as flood and drought events.
