I am an associate researcher of forest ecophysiology at the Forest Research Institute (FRI) of the Hellenic Agricultural Organisation Dimitra (ELGO), Greece. My work focuses on tree physiological responses to abiotic stresses (drought, heat) imposed by climate change. I am studying changes in the carbon, nitrogen and water balance of forest species due to environmental variability, as well as due to defence responses to insects and pathogens attack. Currently I am also working on the contribution of forests to carbon sequestration and climate change mitigation.
