Dr Charlotte Angove (Natural Resources Institute Finland) is an Academy of Finland postdoctoral researcher, who specializes in stable isotopes. Having completed her PhD on aquatic plants, and now focusing on boreal forest trees, Charlotte’s research crosses boundaries between different disciplines, such as between plant physiology, ecohydrology and soil science, using stable isotopes as a facilitator. Her current project goal is to unlock the physiological and climatic δ2H signal in tree rings and n-alkanes. This has so far involved highly sophisticated chemical extractions, analyses of large datasets, process-based hydrological and isotopic modelling, and preparation of manuscripts.
