Jakub Jeleń (Warsaw University of Life Sciences, Warsaw) is a PhD student specializing in forestry sciences. His primary interests are dendroclimatology, dendroecology, and wood anatomy. His study focuses on two oak species found in European forests: Quercus robur, native to Europe, and Quercus rubra, a non-native species to Europe. The main goal of his research is to better understand how changing climate conditions, more frequent extreme weather events, and local site conditions influence both species' secondary growth and conductive tissue adjustment. He is also responsible for an experiment under controlled conditions designed to compare different populations of both oak species' seedlings' physiological and anatomical responses to simulated successive late frost events. Jakub joined the YR Webinar Team after the annual meeting in Warsaw in March 2025.
