I am an Environmental Ecologist/Biogeochemist at the UK Centre for Ecology and Hydrology. I have a background in climate change effects, forest ecology, pollution effects and analytical chemistry. I have worked in a range of geographical regions and ecosystem types in the US, India and now the UK. My current work focuses on monitoring and understanding the effects of nitrogen deposition in various chemical and physical forms on vegetation and soils. The geographical extent of my work extends from the UK to South Asia as part of the South Asian Nitrogen Hub. My overarching research interests include air quality monitoring, pollutant deposition measurement, biosphere-atmosphere gas exchange and biogeochemical modelling. I am currently the project manager for setting up a nitrogen deposition monitoring network in UK's complex terrain as a part of the NCEA program. I also have experience in GIS, LIDAR applications, vegetation surveys, eddy covariance and micrometeorology. My PhD thesis was focused on understanding the cumulative effects of hydroclimatic changes and nitrogen deposition on wetland forests in Texas.
