Ing. Andrei Popa (National Institute for Research and Development in Forestry “Marin Drăcea” Romania) is a Ph.D. student in the field of dendrochronology. He is investigating the growth condition of Norway spruce in Eastern Europe, focusing on intra-annual and inter-annual growth patterns. The main focus of his research is on Early Warning Signals (EWS) of forest decline, tree response to climate changes, resilience, and adaptation of Norway spruce to changing environmental conditions based on tree-ring and dendrometers data. He is actively involved in the ICP Forests program at the Romanian level and has responsibilities in the Forest Growth expert panel.
