Biologist, I received my PhD in Environmental Science at the Università di Siena (2010) and worked at the Universisade de Lisboa with a Marie Curie fellow and a FCT contract. I’m currently Project Manager of an ERC project in the field of history of science. My research is driven by three overarching objectives: i) exploit the possible practical applications of lichens as ecological indicators; ii) investigate common patterns of stress response, in particular nitrogen, in symbiotic systems (lichens and mycorrhizae); iii) provide science-based indications on nitrogen use to industry, policy-makers and citizenry for a more sustainable development. I have wide experience in communication management, event organisation, citizen science, project proposal and science management.
