Dr inż. Klaudia Ziemblińska (Poznan University of Life Sciences, Poland) is an early-stage researcher in the field of micrometeorology, investigating carbon and water cycles in managed and disturbed temperate Scots pine forest ecosystems using the eddy covariance technique. She is a Principal Investigator of the two unique measuring stations – Tlen 1 and Tlen 2, which were affected by windthrow in 2012. Followingly, the two sites were reforested differently, enabling the investigation of the impact of forest management on carbon and water fluxes. The overarching aim is to provide scientific knowledge to optimize the forest management practices to increase carbon sink capacity. This research is a part of the projects funded by Polish State Forests National Forest Holding in which she has been involved since the beginning of her scientific career. In general, different extreme weather events and other disturbances, which influence forests worldwide, became main topic of her professional interests.
