I am a researcher at the Norwegian University of Life sciences. My research focuses on the impacts of global change drivers on ecosystems, with emphasis on plant hydraulic strategies under drought and coordination with other drought resistance traits. I am interested in how and why some trees die and yet others survive under drought and heat. My research includes a combination of field- and laboratory-based physiological approaches to quantify plant functional traits and explore questions about contrasting responses to drought and climate. I am really interested in bridging the gap between plant physiology- the how and why plants respond to climate stressors- with the ability to detect plant-water stress and early signs of tree stress at an ecosystem-scale using remote sensing technologies.
