PhD in Applied Biological Sciences - Forest and Nature Management at Ghent University. I work as a senior researcher in the Environment and Climate unit of the Research Institute for Nature and Forest (INBO) in Geraardsbergen, Belgium. I am involved in UNECE ICP Forests Level II monitoring in Flanders, Belgium and the current chair of the ICP Forests Expert Panel on Deposition. My research is on the impact of atmospheric deposition on forests, with focus on element cycling, dissolved organic matter and (recovery from) acidification and nitrogen saturation. At the moment I am trying to get a better picture of the impact of pollen on throughfall biochemistry.
