Dr Mirco Migliavacca is a scientific project officer at the European Commission, DG-Joint Research Centre. He works at the interface between policy and science, in particular supporting the policy cycle with research on the carbon cycle, biodiversity and global change ecology, and the interactions between consumption and deforestation and forest degradation. Previously, he led the Biosphere-Atmosphere Interaction and Experimentation Group at the Max Planck Institute for Biogeochemistry. His expertise is in the field of biometeorology and global change ecology, eddy covariance flux time series analysis and synthesis, Earth observation and remote sensing (especially hyperspectral remote sensing), model data integration, and Earth system modelling.
